Happies & Crappies
Here’s a bunch of random things that make me happy or make me nauseous! (Just having some fun here. Please excuse the typos!)
| 1. Favorite Movie | To Kill a Mockingbird (Gregory Peck = yum + great story + I named my first car Scout. When I was a teen I loved the movie Lenny with Dustin Hoffman. The guy was a mess but I loved that he wasnt a hypocrite. I also LOVE Mary Poppins! |
| 2. Least Favorite Movie | I hate Crimson Tide. I cried into my husbands shoulder the whole time (Why didnt I leave?) All I could think was There are two stupid men deciding whether to start a nuclear war??? Also, The Last Temptation of Christ fabulous book, horrible movie |
| 3. Favorite TV Show | When I was a teen I loved MASH and The Mary Tyler Moore Show. Now I like Top Chef, Project Runway, House, How I Met Your Mother, Ugly Betty and GLEE ROCKS! (Guilty Pleasure: The Bachelor and The Bachelorette) |
| 4. Least Favorite TV Show | Yo Momma!, Punk'd, Flavor of Love, Real Housewives. I can't even watch the commercials for these shows! |
| 5. Favorite Actor | Old School: Gregory Peck, Dick Van Dyke. Current actors: Neil Patrick Harris, Alan Rickman (he plays Severus Snape). |
| 6. Favorite Actress | Old School: Julie Andrews. Current: Meryl Streep, Jane Lynch |
| 7. Favorite Website | POP CANDY! Cant get enough of the Candy! And Facebook, but dont tell! And Im pretty in love with my own website too... |
| 8. Favorite Book | I ADORE the Harry Potter series! Also the Twilight series, poetry by Hafiz, Lamb, The Time Travelers Wife, Psalms, Running With Scissors, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Prince of Tides, Nine Princes in Amber, and A Return to Love |
| 9. Favorite Book When I Was a Teen | I loved James Micheners books and reread them a lot. And To Kill a Mockingbird, Johnny Got His Gun, A Wrinkle in Time, and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn |
| 10. Favorite Music | New Wave (80s), The Beatles, James Taylor, old school Elton John, or World Music |
| 11. Least Favorite Music | Rap. It hurts my head. |
| 12. Best Concert Ever | Elton John at the L.A. Forum, 1973 |
| 13. Favorite Comic or Cartoon | Calvin and Hobbes! Theres also a really good Argentine comic called Mafalda. Its in Spanish and its funny. |
| 14. 3 People I Admire | My husband (hes really good at being my husband and, while it must be incredibly rewarding, haha, I cant imagine that its easy! I have a lot of spirit!), my friend Kyrie (she had a tough life and now shes married to a great guy and they have two fabulous kids), two former students, Brandi and Betina (Their faith in God is amazing, despite not having the easiest childhoods. Ive known them since they were 13 and now theyre in their 30s and theyre just spectacular!) |
| 15. 3 People I'd Like to Meet | Albus Dumbledore (I know hes not real but ); Joseph Campbell a really cool sort of philosopher type guy; Jesus Christ come on, that would be pretty cool! |
| 16. Team Edward or Team Jacob? | Team Harry Potter. Twilight is fun but Harry Potter is ridiculous |
| 17. Favorite Food | Tacos with CORN tortillas. (If theyre made with flour tortillas, theyre crappies). |
| 18. Least Favorite Food | Organ meats are gross (hearts, tongues, intestines. . .) |
| 19. Thing I Like Best About Me | I'm quirky and impish and creative and that makes me laugh. |
| 20. Thing I Like the Least About Me | I worry. |
| 21. 3 Sucky Things That Happened to Me When I Was A Teen | My best friend moved to Hong Kong; both my parents got really depressed; the boy I wanted to marry chose someone else (and then someone else!) |
| 22. 3 Cool Things That Happened to Me When I Was A Teen | I got to travel a lot; I sang in musicals; I learned 5 foreign languages! |
| 23. What I Loved About My Mom | She introduced me to plays and musicals and museums and operas and art galleries. |
| 24. What I Wanted to Change About My Mom | I wish she had taken better care of herself. |
| 25. What I Loved About My Dad | He was super funny! |
| 26. What I Wanted to Change About My Dad | He could have used some anger management classes. |
| 27. What I Like About Being A Step Mom | Just hanging out is so fun! I also like watching them mature and get through their challenges with such determination. |
| 28. What I Don't Like About Being A Step Mom | Split families are HARD! |
| 29. My Favorite Teacher Back Then | I had a few, but Rabbi Yosi Gordon is the one who made the most lasting impression. He always believed in me, and he inspired me to become a teacher, counselor and coach so that I could believe inspire my students and, now, my clients. |
| 30. My Least Favorite Teacher Back Then | My 9th grade English teacher and my 11th grade American lit teacher too serious and straight-laced! |
